Job summary

The NUR Power company in Malaysia seeks an experienced electrical engineer to monitor and manage the distribution network system across LV, 11 kV, 33 kV and 132 kV levels. The role includes switching operations, outage coordination, and planning for reliable network performance.

You will lead field teams including operation and SCADA technicians, maintain HV/MV diagrams, and ensure adherence to safety rules. A PE with PEC is required, with at least 5 years in distribution network ops.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Registered Professional Engineer with PEC in Malaysia.
• At least 5 years of experience in operation and maintenance of electrical distribution networks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the Distribution Network System (LV, 11 kV, 33 kV, 132 kV).
• Perform switching operations of Distribution System Assets.
• Plan the operations of Distribution System Assets.
• Plan and prepare switching plans.
• Maintain HV & MV grid network single line diagrams.
• Coordinate plant and network outages with relevant teams.
• Lead field response crews (operation & SCADA) during switching.
• Oversee Distribution Operation Technicians and Distribution SCADA Technicians.
• Monitor system parameter compliance and performance.
• Liaise with commercial units and customers as required.
• Develop and review Distribution Operation Procedures, Safety Rules and Standing Instructions.
• Ensure safe working practices and compliance with Distribution Safety Rules.
• Conduct safety audits.
• Perform standby duties.
• Undertake any other duties as required by the Company.

• Perform plant outage and network system outage coordination
• Set priorities, coordinate and control field response crews (operation & SCADA technician) in switching throughout the network
• Managing of Distribution Operation Technicians and Distribution SCADA Technicians.
• Monitors and analyses system parameter compliance and performance.
• Liaison with commercial unit and customers and customers’ representative when required.
• Preparation, implementation and review of Distribution Operation Procedures, Safety Rule and Standing Instructions.
• Ensuring safe working and compliance with Distribution Safety Rules.
• Conduct safety audits.
• Do standby duties.
• Any other responsibilities that may be required, in the interests of the Company from time to time.

Job Requirements

• Hold Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered with Board of Engineer Malaysia as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate.
• At Least 5 years of working experience in operation and maintenance of an electrical distribution network.
