Job summary

Cipta Wawasan Maju Engineering Sdn Bhd in Shah Alam is seeking an Electrical Engineer to plan, coordinate, and oversee electrical works for water and wastewater treatment plant projects, covering tender, design, installation, testing and commissioning.

You will review drawings, liaise with clients and authorities, supervise installation and testing, ensure regulatory compliance, safety and quality, and contribute to project handover with O&M documentation and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with BEM registration.
• 3–5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in water/wastewater or related infra.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution and control systems.
• Familiarity with electrical drawings, specs and standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee electrical engineering works for water and wastewater projects, including tender, design, installation, testing and commissioning.

Job description

Plan, coordinate and oversee electrical engineering (electrical, SCADA & instrumentation) works for water and wastewater treatment plant projects, including tender, design, installation, testing and commissioning. You will review electrical drawings and technical specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements, coordinate and supervise installation of electrical equipment and systems, and liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and relevant authorities on electrical engineering matters.

Key responsibilities

Plan, coordinate and oversee electrical engineering works for water and wastewater treatment plant projects, including tender, design, installation, testing and commissioning.

Review electrical drawings, technical specifications and other engineering documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Coordinate and supervise the installation of electrical equipment and systems.

Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and relevant authorities on electrical engineering matters.

Monitor and coordinate site activities to ensure electrical works are completed according to project schedules, budget, approved drawings, quality standards and safety requirements.

Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure proper integration of electrical systems with plant operations, including PLC/SCADA interfaces.

Participate in equipment inspections, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), testing and commissioning activities, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.

Prepare and review technical submissions, method statements, material approvals, design calculations, inspection reports and progress reports.

Identify and resolve technical issues arising during project design, execution, installation and commissioning.

Ensure electrical works comply with applicable Malaysian regulations, relevant engineering standards and project-specific safety and quality requirements.

Support project handover activities, including preparation of operation and maintenance (O&M) documentation, training, as-built drawing and defect rectification works.

Perform other engineering-related duties as assigned by the Superior.

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or other related discipline complete with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) registration.

Preferably 3–5 years of relevant working experience in electrical engineering, particularly in water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations or other related infrastructure projects.

Good knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, electrical control systems and associated equipment.

Familiarity with electrical engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, technical specifications, technical calculations and relevant engineering standards.

Experience in electrical installation, site supervision, testing and commissioning of industrial or infrastructure projects.

Basic knowledge of PLC, SCADA, instrumentation and automation systems will be an added advantage.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office/Project and relevant engineering software will be an added advantage.

Good communication, coordination, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently, proactively, diligently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams.

Willing to travel and be stationed at project sites when required.
