Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a capable Electrical Engineer to join our M&E team in Selangor. You will evaluate drawings, review method statements, and ensure compliance with standards while coordinating with project teams.

The role requires 2–3 years in construction, a Bachelor’s in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office. Mandarin fluency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of construction or property development experience.
• Electrical engineering experience with knowledge of electrical systems and standards.
• Strong coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office and relevant engineering software.
• Mandarin language ability preferred for communication.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the M&E consultant drawings for adherence to standards and feasibility prior to submission to the relevant authorities.
• Assess tender drawings and suggest Value Engineering opportunities if applicable.
• Collaborate to create coordination drawings to reduce service conflicts.
• Review method statements, shop drawings, and material submissions.
• Inspect the quality of workmanship in electrical installations and monitor site progress.
• Respond to RFIs or technical queries; participate in FAT.
• Witness tests of insulation resistance, continuity, earthing, RCCB, and related tests.
• Liaise with authorities and third parties for permits and letters.
• Identify suppliers for product specifications.
• Conduct pre-qualification of tenderers.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
