Job summary

IAQ ENERGY FACILITY MANAGEMENT SDN. BHD. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead design and calculations for projects, assist in tender planning, and prepare technical reports and proposals.

The role requires ensuring on-schedule, compliant design delivery and coordinating with multiple disciplines. site/commissioning support is expected as needed. Candidates should have a degree in Electrical Engineering and 7+ years of design/construction experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 7 years working experience in design/construction industry.
• Able to operate AutoCAD software, and MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design and calculations for projects.
• Assist in tender planning, scheduling and budgeting.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and proposals.
• Ensure design delivery per schedule and quality standards.
• Guide CAD designer to produce drawings and coordinate with disciplines.
• Provide site support during construction and commissioning.

Job description

Person in charge for designated disciplines in design and technical aspects;

Strong knowledgeincommercial/industrialelectrical systems;

Experience in design for both electrical generation and distributionsystemfor high,mediumand low voltage;

Experience in lightning protection and earthing systems;

Experience in energy optimizationprojectswould be an added advantage.

Engineering Stage

Lead engineering design and calculations;

Assistin tender planning, scheduling, and budgeting;

Prepare technical reports,presentationand proposals;

Ensure design is delivered in as per schedule;

Responsibleto delivercommitted deliverables at each design stage;

Prepare tender scope of work,specificationand BOQ;

Guide CADdesignerto produce drawings;

Coordinate with other disciplines on design and other deliveries.

Procurement Stage

Response to technical queries from bidders;

Chair technical clarification session;

Evaluate technical submission from bidders and ensure bidders arecomplywith both technical and scope of works;

Construction Stage

Asist EHS department in site safety supervision;

Managerof workpackage;

Technical issues;

Initiate any design and scope of work change;

Initiate technicalsubmissiontoclient;

Review and approve technicalsubmissionfrom contractors;

Review and approve work method statementsubmittedby contractors. SeeksEHSdepartment’s adviceinsafety aspects;

Initiate RFI to engineering manager,acknowledgeby project manager;

Leader in testing of commissioning for respectivediscipline,assistedby quality controller in documentationworks;

Provide support tocontractorin resolving technical issues;

Construction issues;

Providetechnical advice to construction teams;

Advice and update construction team in scope ofworksand any change in scope ofworks;

Commercial issues;

Liaison with commercial departmentincost relatedissues;

Quality issues;

Provide technical support toqualitycontrol team in executingqualitycontrol plan. Provide technicalspecification, inspection test planformsand checklist to qualitycontroller.

Project Closure

Sign off testing and commissioning forms and result;

Verifyallscopeofworksare completed;

Assistquality controller in handover documentation compilation;

Review and approve operating and maintenance manualsubmittedby contractors.

Requirements: -

Degree inElectricalEngineering or equivalent;

At least7yearsworking experience in thedesign/constructionindustry;

Able to work independently under minimum supervision;

Highly motivated with strong organizational and time management skills;

Ability to prioritize to meet strict deadlines;

Able tooperateAutoCAD software, MS Excel, MS Words and MS PowerPoint;

Goodinterpersonal and communication skills;

The position may require candidate to be seconded to project site;

Willing to travel and station at site when necessary.
