Job summary

Atomic Recruitment SEA is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee and coordinate electrical works for building construction projects. You will work with the Lead Engineer, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure electrical and MEP works meet project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and timelines.

The role focuses on coordinating with stakeholders, supervising installation activities, and ensuring compliance with drawings and codes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 4–5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably in consultancy or MEP
• Experience in electrical consulting and building construction projects
• Understanding of electrical building services, installation practices, drawings, and specs
• Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary teams

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee and coordinate electrical works for building construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Engineer, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other project teams to ensure that all electrical and MEP works are executed in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and agreed timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Engineer in overseeing and coordinating MEP services to ensure timely project completion.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and relevant stakeholders to resolve technical issues and facilitate smooth project execution.
• Supervise and coordinate electrical installation works, working closely with other disciplines to achieve project milestones.
• Oversee day-to-day site activities in collaboration with the Inspector of Works (IOW) and Resident Engineer (RE).
• Monitor project progress, maintain site records, and ensure proper project documentation.
• Review subcontractors’ method statements, technical drawings, material submissions, samples, and work progress to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Assist in preparing and coordinating Coordinated Services Drawings (CSDs) and penetration drawings, working closely with the BIM team.
• Attend site inspections, project progress meetings, and MEP coordination meetings as required.
• Ensure all electrical works comply with approved drawings, contract specifications, relevant codes of practice, applicable standards, and safety regulations.
• Monitor project schedules and costs to ensure electrical and MEP works are completed within the agreed timeframe and budget.
• Conduct quality checks and follow up on site issues to ensure all works meet the required standards and project specifications.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 4–5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably within an engineering consultancy or M&E consulting firm.
• Prior experience in electrical consulting and building construction projects is essential.
• Good understanding of electrical building services, installation practices, technical drawings, and project specifications.
• Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Familiarity with MEP coordination, design, CSDs, penetration drawings, and BIM processes will be an advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage site activities and meet project deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.
