Job summary

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Designer to join CLASSY OUTLOOK SOLUTIONS (M) SDN BHD in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in leading our design vision and delivering exceptional interior design solutions for our clients. As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualising and executing sophisticated design projects whilst mentoring junior team members and contributing to the strategic direction of our design portfolio. This role is instrumental in maintaining our reputation for excellence and innovation in the interior design industry.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the conception, design and development of interior design projects from brief to completion, ensuring all solutions meet client expectations and align with company standards
• Produce detailed design proposals, including mood boards, floor plans, elevations, 3D visualisations and specification documents
• Manage client relationships throughout the design process, presenting concepts, gathering feedback and refining designs based on client requirements
• Conduct site surveys and feasibility assessments to inform design recommendations and identify potential constraints or opportunities
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery and successful implementation
• Oversee the specification of materials, finishes, furniture and lighting to create cohesive and functional interior environments
• Mentor and guide junior designers, providing constructive feedback, design guidance and professional development support
• Stay abreast of current interior design trends, materials, technologies and best practices to ensure our work remains innovative and competitive
• Manage project timelines, budgets and resources to ensure efficient project delivery within agreed parameters
• Contribute to the development of design standards, templates and processes that enhance team productivity and consistency

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 5-10 years of professional experience in interior design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating a range of completed projects across residential, commercial or hospitality sectors
• Proficiency in industry-standard design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and 3D rendering tools such as V-Ray or 3ds Max
• Advanced knowledge of interior design principles, colour theory, spatial planning, materials and construction methodologies
• Excellent understanding of building codes, regulations and compliance requirements relevant to interior design in Malaysia
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities with experience supervising or supporting junior design staff
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with architects, contractors, suppliers and clients to deliver successful project outcomes
• Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to balance aesthetic vision with practical functionality and budget constraints
• Professional qualification in Interior Design or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and environmentally responsible material selection is advantageous
