Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as an Interior Designer with a portfolio of completed projects.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative interior design concepts and proposals aligned with client briefs, budgets, and timelines.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, floor plans, elevations, and 3D visualisations using industry-standard software.
• Conduct site surveys and assess spatial constraints, lighting, and functional requirements.
• Present design concepts to clients, incorporating feedback and refining designs accordingly.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

About the role

We are seeking a creative and talented Interior Designer to join our growing team at Common Space Studio Creations Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Selangor. In this role, you will play a crucial part in conceptualising, developing, and delivering interior design solutions that exceed client expectations. You will work on diverse projects, collaborating with clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders to transform spaces into functional and aesthetically pleasing environments. This position offers the opportunity to showcase your design expertise whilst contributing to the creative vision and strategic objectives of the studio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop creative interior design concepts and design proposals that align with client briefs, budgets, and project timelines
• Prepare detailed design drawings, floor plans, elevations, and 3D visualisations using industry-standard software
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to understand spatial constraints, lighting, and functional requirements
• Present design concepts and ideas to clients, incorporating feedback and refining designs based on client requirements
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within financial parameters
• Source and select appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, and fixtures that complement the design vision and meet quality standards
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and other professionals to oversee implementation and quality of installations
• Monitor project progress on site and troubleshoot design-related issues during the construction and installation phases
• Maintain detailed project documentation and maintain organised filing systems for design references and project records
• Collaborate with team members to develop innovative design solutions and contribute to the studio's portfolio

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline
• Proven experience as an Interior Designer, with a portfolio demonstrating your design work and completed projects
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3dsMax, or similar tools
• Strong understanding of interior design principles, colour theory, spatial planning, and material selection
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders
• Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions
• Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards relevant to interior design
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment whilst maintaining independence and initiative
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt designs to meet practical constraints and client feedback
• Preferred: Experience with 3D visualisation software, rendering tools, or virtual reality design applications
• Preferred: Experience in residential, commercial, or hospitality interior design projects
