Job summary

Mattel, Inc. is seeking a Demand Planning Lead to manage the local S&OP process in Kuala Lumpur, aligning Sales, Marketing and Finance on forecasting and product availability.

You will analyze trends to adjust forecasts, report key metrics, and focus on inventory optimization to balance supply with demand. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in business/operations, at least 3 years in forecasting, strong Excel/PowerPoint skills, and familiarity with planning tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business/ops/scm is preferred.
• Fluent English (written and verbal).
• At least 3 years experience in a supply chain demand planning or forecasting role.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of AS400, Tableau, Cognos.

Responsibilities

• Lead the local S&OP process and consensus meetings with Commercial/Marketing/Finance teams.
• Coordinate Forecasting and Product Availability with Sales/Marketing/Finance.
• Synchronize commercial plans with monthly demand/supply forecast.
• Monitor forecasts using POS, shipping trends, and customer insights.
• Provide monthly metrics and recommendations on forecast changes, bias, and item productivity.
• Work with Supply and Inventory Management to project inventory health and reduce excess.
• Identify constraints and develop solutions to mitigate impacts.
• Set up mechanisms to detect critical forecast levels and changes.
