Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage Oracle and PostgreSQL environments. You will install, monitor, and optimize databases, handle upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery, and coordinate with multiple teams to ensure SLA adherence.

The role requires hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL, strong SQL/PLSQL skills, and familiarity with HA solutions such as Data Guard and RAC. On-call support may be required.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience.
• Minimum 2 years of PostgreSQL database administration experience.
• Strong experience with Oracle 11g, 12c, 18c, or 19c.
• Hands-on knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery, Data Guard, performance tuning, and patching.
• Experience with PostgreSQL installation, configuration, replication, backup, recovery, and upgrades.
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Linux/Unix commands.
• Familiarity with database monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Good understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and database security.

Responsibilities

• Implement PostgreSQL replication, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
• Monitor production databases and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs.
• Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and development teams.
• Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and audit records.
• Participate in on-call or rotational production support when required.
