We are urgently hiring a Senior Data Centre Operations Lead / DCT Team Lead to support a large-scale data centre operations project in Kulai
This is a senior hands-on leadership role responsible for managing and guiding the onsite Data Centre Technician team, supporting daily operations, coordinating work activities, handling escalations, ensuring SLA compliance, and maintaining high standards of safety, documentation, access control and operational discipline.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in data centre operations, server hardware support, rack and stack, remote hands, incident handling, vendor coordination and team supervision within a mission-critical environment.
Lead, guide and coordinate the onsite Data Centre Technician / DC team.
Manage daily data centre operations, work allocation, shift handover and manpower coordination.
Act as the first escalation point for technical, operational, safety or process-related issues.
Support server hardware installation, rack and stack, break-fix, hardware replacement and remote hands activities.
Oversee copper and fibre cabling, patching, cable tracing, labelling and cable management activities.
Coordinate server deployment, relocation, decommissioning, asset movement and hardware validation.
Ensure all work is performed according to approved SOP, MOP, EOP, safety and access-control procedures.
Review tickets, incidents, service requests and operational tasks to ensure timely response and closure.
Monitor SLA performance and ensure proper escalation for high-priority incidents.
Coordinate with client, engineers, vendors, logistics, facility teams, security and other stakeholders.
Support incident investigation, root cause analysis, corrective actions and operational improvement.
Ensure proper documentation, ticket updates, asset records, shift reports and handover notes.
Conduct daily / weekly operational briefings with the team where required.
Support onboarding, coaching and technical guidance for junior technicians.
Maintain discipline, safety awareness and professionalism within the onsite team.
Identify manpower gaps, operational risks, process issues and improvement areas.
Support audit, compliance, inventory, access and safety-related activities when required.
Diploma / Degree in IT, Computer Science, Networking, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or related technical discipline.
Minimum 6-10 years of relevant experience in data centre operations, IT infrastructure, server hardware, network operations, remote hands, field support or critical infrastructure.
Prior experience leading or supervising a team of technicians, shift team or onsite operations team.
Strong hands-on knowledge of server hardware, rack and stack, structured cabling, fibre/copper patching, hardware replacement and basic network connectivity.
Experience supporting break-fix activities for servers, storage, network devices or data centre equipment.
Familiar with ticketing systems, incident management, change management, escalation procedures and SLA-driven operations.
Able to read and follow SOP, MOP, EOP, work instructions, cabling labels, rack layouts and asset records.
Good understanding of data centre safety, access control, escorting rules and operational compliance.
Strong communication skills with ability to coordinate with client, vendors, engineers and internal teams.
Able to work under pressure in a 24x7 mission-critical environment.
Comfortable with shift / rotational support, standby or on-call if required.
Hyperscale data centre experience will be highly preferred.
Experience with server deployment, data hall operations, remote hands and smart hands.
Experience with hardware replacement such as HDD, SSD, RAM, PSU, fan modules, NIC, SFP / QSFP and related server components.
Experience with network equipment installation, patch panel, fibre panel, cable testing and structured cabling.
Experience supporting data centre migration, expansion, deployment or decommissioning projects.
Experience in team leadership, shift leadership, service delivery or onsite operations coordination.
Basic knowledge of ITIL, incident / change / problem management will be an advantage.
CDCP, CCNA, ITIL or related certification will be an advantage.
