Job summary

Omya Asia Pacific Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Senior Customs Specialist to manage end-to-end import/export documentation and clearance from Malaysia.

You will ensure accurate tariff classification, origin verification, and compliance with trade regulations. You will coordinate with brokers, carriers and internal teams to secure timely release, monitor duties and taxes, and uphold audit-ready records.

Qualifications

• University degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management / International Trade / Business Administration / Finance or related field.
• 6+ years of relevant work experience in customs/documentation and clearance.
• Experience with brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and authorities including SLA follow-up and claims.
• Knowledge of HS codes, tariff classification, and duty/tax settlement.
• Familiarity with trade regulations, licenses, and permits.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end customs documentation and clearance execution.
• Prepare, review, and submit import and export declarations with proper HS codes, valuation, and origin.
• Issue and validate origin documents under trade agreements.
• Coordinate with carriers, brokers, and internal teams to ensure timely release and delivery.
• Monitor compliance with sanctions, export controls, and licensing requirements.
• Manage duties, VAT, and customs guarantees and optimize costs.
• Submit periodic reports (Intrastat, etc.) within deadlines.
• Maintain customs records and master data.
• Lead and develop customs specialists, set objectives and performance expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement and digital tools adoption in customs processes.
