Job summary

CapBay Group in Malaysia seeks a Credit Analyst to ensure that applications from Sales and Business Development are evaluated through CapBay's credit-scoring framework, aligning with our mission to provide smart, inclusive SME financing.

You will perform risk assessments, structuring proposals, prepare credit memos and term sheets for Credit Committee, and conduct post-approval reviews. You’ll also monitor loan portfolio health and participate in policy improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Retail or SME credit analysis or SME/biz banking sales-relationship management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, Business Admin or related field.
• Credit/financial qualifications (CCP/Professional Credit Certification - CCE/BCP from AICB / Omega CSA) is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with financial analysis and cash flow projections.
• Sound knowledge of credit products, policy, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Fluency in English and comprehension in Bahasa Malaysia; good writing and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Excel; PowerQuery/PowerPivot and VBA or JavaScript scripting are advantages.

Responsibilities

• Involve credit evaluation on financing applications from Business Units covering risk assessment and facility structuring.
• Prepare credit papers/memos/term sheets for submission to Credit Committee for decision.
• Provide financial projections or sensitivity analyses as needed.
• Interview clients with Relationship Managers on site visits if required.
• Conduct post-approval reviews and monitor loan portfolio repayments.
• Assist in ad-hoc reports and contribute to credit policy improvements.
