Sunway Trading & Manufacturing is seeking a Senior Executive / Assistant Manager – Credit Control responsible for managing credit risk, ensuring timely collection of debts, and maintaining healthy cash flow. Qualifications

  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field.
  • 3–5 years of working experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or related finance roles.
  • Able to finish the work within the timeline given.
  • Proactive and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and review customer credit applications and recommend appropriate credit limits.
  • Monitor customers' credit exposure and payment behaviour.
  • Conduct periodic credit reviews and recommend revisions to credit terms.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's credit control policies and procedures.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and ageing reports; follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements while maintaining good business relationships.
  • Ensure collection targets and KPIs are achieved.
  • Identify high-risk accounts and recommend recovery actions.
  • Escalate problematic accounts to management; coordinate with legal or external agencies as needed.
  • Prepare monthly ageing analysis and collection reports; analyze collection performance.
  • Present credit risk updates to management; assist in cash flow forecasting.
  • Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance; support auditors.

The Senior Executive / Assistant Manager – Credit Control is responsible for managing the company's credit risk by ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, evaluating customers' creditworthiness, monitoring credit limits, and maintaining healthy cash flow while fostering positive customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Credit Management
  • Evaluate and review customer credit applications and recommend appropriate credit limits.
  • Monitor customers' credit exposure and payment behaviour.
  • Conduct periodic credit reviews and recommend revisions to credit terms where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's credit control policies and procedures.
Collection & Accounts Monitoring
  • Monitor customers' outstanding balances and ageing reports.
  • Follow up on overdue accounts through phone calls, emails, and customer visits when necessary.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements with customers while maintaining good business relationships.
  • Ensure collection targets and KPIs are achieved.
  • Identify high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate recovery actions.
  • Escalate problematic accounts to management.
  • Coordinate with Legal or external collection agencies where necessary.
  • Recommend suspension of credit facilities for delinquent customers.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare monthly ageing analysis and collection reports.
  • Analyse collection performance and identify collection trends.
  • Present credit risk updates to management.
  • Assist in cash flow forecasting.
Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance departments regarding customer accounts.
  • Support auditors during internal and external audits.
Process Improvement
  • Review existing credit control processes and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of customer credit records.
  • Participate in finance-related projects and system enhancements.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a related field.
  • At least3- 5 years of working experience in credit control, accounts receivable, general finance, or an administrative accounting role.
  • Able to finish the work within the timeline given.
  • Proactive and able to work under pressure.
