Job summary

EcoOils in Malaysia seeks an experienced procurement professional to lead category sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management across its Pasir Gudang, Johor and Nilai, Negeri Sembilan plants.

The role requires 6–8 years of procurement experience in manufacturing environments, with strong expertise in RFQ processes, supplier evaluation, and cost optimization. You will supervise procurement and warehouse staff and ensure inventory and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as CIPS, CIPM, CPSM, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 6–8 years of procurement experience with exposure to strategic sourcing and category management.
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiation, RFQ management, supplier evaluation, and cost optimization.
  • Experience managing procurement activities within a manufacturing, industrial, chemical, oil & gas, or similar environment.
  • Experience supervising procurement and warehouse/store personnel.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management, contract implementation, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned procurement categories within the designated locality to support operational requirements.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with plant requirements, procurement objectives, and business priorities.
  • Analyze procurement spend, supplier landscape, market conditions, and cost drivers to identify sourcing opportunities.
  • Develop sourcing initiatives including local supplier identification.
  • Ensure procurement strategies support operational reliability, supply continuity, and cost competitiveness.
  • Conduct market intelligence activities to understand supplier capabilities, pricing trends, market movements, and supply risks.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop potential suppliers to improve competitiveness and supply assurance.
  • Lead sourcing activities including RFQ issuance, quotation evaluation, commercial analysis, negotiation, and supplier recommendation.
  • Conduct supplier benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing and commercial terms.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and improved commercial terms.
  • Manage supplier performance to ensure suppliers meet agreed requirements on cost, quality, delivery, and service levels.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee Storekeeper activities to ensure effective inventory management and warehouse control.
  • Ensure warehouse activities comply with safety requirements, procedures, and audit standards.
  • Prepare regular procurement reports covering category sourcing progress, savings performance, supplier performance, market intelligence updates, procurement risks and etc.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support procurement decisions.
