Job summary

SBM Offshore N.V. is seeking a Senior Contract Manager in Malaysia to lead contract management across main contracts, subcontracts and supply chain. You will oversee deliverables, ensure compliance, and drive commercial strategies throughout project lifecycles.

The candidate should have 10–15 years of experience in contract management (Claims, EPCI, subcontracting) with strong negotiation and risk management skills. Global teams and auditability are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• Degree or MBA in Business Management, Law, Construction Law, Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• 10–15 years of experience in contract management across Claims, EPCI, subcontract management.
• Broad experience in sales and lease contracts and contract negotiation.
• Experience of project execution interface.

Responsibilities

• You manage Main Contracts.
• You manage and expedite contract deliverables and requirements.
• You support and coordinate the development of contracting strategies, including Sub-contracts & Supply Chain.
• You monitor performance and compliance with contractual requirements and signatory powers, expedite disciplines where necessary, and highlight potential areas of concern.
• You ensure commercial and contractual awareness across the Project Team throughout the life of the project.
• You achieve and maintain total auditability of all commercial and contractual dealings, including clear record‑keeping and regular commercial reporting.
• You participate in and provide input to Risk and Opportunities management.
• You provide Contract Feedback during the life of the project.
• You ensure Guarantee period management.

Purpose

• The Senior Contract Manager provides Contract Management support for project or unit execution across Supply Chain, Client focus and Subcontract to ensure a contractually compliant and a commercially optimised contract.

Responsibilities

Education

• Degree or MBA in one of the following disciplines (Business Management, Law, Construction Law, Engineering or Quantity Surveying).

Experience

• At least 10‑15 years of experience covering all aspects contract management including Claims, EPCI, subcontract management.
• Broad experience in sales and lease contracts, in executing contract negotiation.
• Experience of project execution interface.
