Job summary

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is seeking a Senior Consumer Banking Auditor to manage audit engagements across Consumer Banking, Wealth Management, and related areas. The role requires deep knowledge of consumer banking products and regulatory standards, with a focus on AML/CFT compliance, risk assessment, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have 12+ years in banking audits, strong analytical and communication skills, and a track record of leading complex engagements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of audit or relevant banking experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; professional certifications advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of Consumer Banking and Wealth Management products and related risks.
• Familiarity with AML/CFT regulatory frameworks.
• Experience leading complex audit engagements.
• Familiarity with Generative AI technologies is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee audit engagements covering Consumer Banking, Lending, Wealth Management, Compliance/AML/CFT and related support functions.
• Perform continuous risk assessments and risk profiling for assigned portfolios, identifying emerging risks and areas requiring audit attention.
• Oversee audit fieldwork and review audit workpapers to ensure quality, completeness and adherence to Internal Audit methodology.
• Provide guidance, coaching and technical support to audit team members during audit engagements.
• Actively drive and serve as a role model in the adoption and application of Generative AI, Data Analytics and technology-enabled auditing techniques.
• Identify thematic issues, root causes and control weaknesses, and recommend practical, sustainable and value-added solutions.
• Prepare and present quality audit reports, highlighting key issues, risks, impacts and sustainable action plans.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships while maintaining audit independence and objectivity.
• Actively contribute to the development of risk-based audit plans, portfolio risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives within Internal Audit.
• Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes and emerging risks affecting Consumer Banking businesses, operations and related regulatory requirements.
