Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee building construction projects for a 100-person company in Kuala Lumpur. • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in project management within construction/building industry.
• Proven track record of managing building construction projects from inception to completion; minimum 10 years in this area.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and building engineering practices.
• Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin a significant advantage.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Ability to lead and motivate project teams and manage stakeholders.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting in Malaysia.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans with resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management.
• Lead cross-functional project teams and ensure effective communication among clients, subcontractors, and internal departments.
• Implement and enforce quality control measures and safety protocols aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Manage project financials including budgeting and cost control to ensure profitability.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory bodies to obtain permits and approvals.
• Conduct site inspections and progress meetings to monitor status and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare comprehensive project documentation including reports and change orders.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors for timely material delivery.
• Apply Civil/Building Engineering principles to resolve technical challenges and ensure structural integrity.
