Job summary

TT VISION TECHNOLOGIES in Penang, Malaysia seeks a software/vision engineer to develop and optimize computer vision algorithms for image inspection and defect detection. You will research ML/DL models for automated defect recognition and integrate software with cameras, lighting, and sensors in manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Vision, AI, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize computer vision algorithms for image inspection, defect detection, measurement, alignment, and classification applications.
• Research, design, and implement machine learning and deep learning models for automated defect recognition, anomaly detection, and image analysis.
• Analyse image quality characteristics to improve inspection robustness and accuracy.
• Lead investigations and optimization to improve inspection stability and throughput.
• Design high-speed real-time image processing pipelines using multithreading, GPU acceleration, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with hardware, optics, lighting, and process engineering teams to integrate software with cameras, frame grabbers, motion systems, PLCs, lighting controllers, sensors.
• Evaluate classical vision methods vs AI/deep learning for various use cases.
• Build and maintain datasets, annotation workflows, validation methodologies, and model evaluation processes.
• Support deployment, debugging, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in production environments.
• Review software design and code quality for maintainability and scalability.
• Mentor software and vision engineers in algorithm development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated AOI solutions.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies for future platform enhancement.
• Maintain technical documentation like algorithm specs and troubleshooting guides.
• Drive continuous improvement for inspection capability and production efficiency.
• Support technical roadmap planning for next-gen intelligent inspection platform.
