Job summary

Ideal Vision Integration Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking an R&D Engineer to advance machine vision and vision AI technologies. You will design algorithms for image processing, pattern recognition and object detection, and develop vision-based automation and inspection solutions.

Work with cameras, lighting and optics, collaborate with software, hardware and mechanical engineers, and document research outcomes. A strong educational background and hands-on C++/C# experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Preferably a bachelor/postgraduate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or IT.
• 1-2 years of experience in R&D related to computer vision, machine vision or image processing.
• Candidate must possess knowledge in C++ or C#.NET programming.
• Knowledge in machine vision, image processing or motion control is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Positive work attitude, responsible, able to work independently with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct R&D in machine vision and vision AI technology.
• Design and implement vision algorithms such as image processing, pattern recognition and object detection.
• Develop vision-based solutions for automation, inspection and AI applications.
• Integrate with hardware systems such as cameras, lighting and optics.
• Collaborate with software, hardware and mechanical engineers.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation and publications of research outcomes.
• Stay updated with latest research, tools and technologies in computer vision and AI.
• Support prototyping, trials and customer evaluations of vision-based systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to vision algorithms and systems.
