Job summary

Gardenage in Shah Alam welcomes fresh graduates to join as Barista and Front-of-House, combining customer service and beverage creation in a fast-paced cafe. You will greet customers, take orders, and prepare coffee to quality standards while handling POS transactions and maintaining clean dining and bar areas.

You will collaborate with the outlet team on daily operations, explore new beverage ideas, and ensure consistency in taste and presentation.

Job description

This is a barista and front-of-house café role combining customer service, beverage preparation, drink creation, and café operations. You will greet customers courteously, take orders, prepare coffee and beverages according to café recipes and quality standards, handle cashiering duties, maintain cleanliness of the dining and bar areas, and support daily café operations in a shift-based, fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

Greet customers and attend to their orders in a timely and professional manner.

Assist customers with menu items, basic product information, and service-related inquiries.

Handle cashiering duties accurately, including order processing and payment handling.

Support daily café operations, including order taking, food and beverage serving, and table clearing.

Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the dining area, counter, front-of-house equipment, barista station, and bar equipment.

Independently prepare coffee and other beverages according to café recipes and quality standards.

Assist in developing, testing, and creating new beverages, including seasonal and specialty drinks.

Contribute creative ideas for new drink flavours, combinations, and presentations.

Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.

Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operational guidelines, and service standards consistently.

Monitor inventory of barista supplies and notify supervisors of shortages.

Comply with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.

Collaborate with outlet team members to ensure smooth café operations.

About you

Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Strong interest in coffee, beverage creation, and long-term development as a Barista.

Prior experience as a barista in a café or F&B environment is an advantage.

Familiar with cashiering and handling POS systems.

Basic knowledge of coffee, beverages, and café operations.

Knowledge of operating espresso machines, grinders, and bar equipment.

Creative mindset with an interest in experimenting with flavours and developing new drinks.

Customer-oriented with a positive and friendly attitude.

Disciplined and able to follow SOPs, instructions, and established operational standards.

Proficiency in spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Proficiency in spoken Chinese is an added advantage, as we serve a diverse customer base.
