Job summary

Qualifications

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Barista to join our hospitality team in Seri Kembangan, Selangor. As a Barista, you will be the face of our establishment, creating memorable experiences through your expertise in coffee preparation, beverage knowledge, and outstanding customer service. Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, speciality coffees, and other bar beverages to exacting standards
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment, ensuring they are kept clean and in optimal working condition
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing recommendations based on customer preferences and requirements
• Manage the point of sale system, processing payments and handling transactions securely
• Maintain a clean and hygienic work station, including the bar area, equipment, and service counters
• Stock and organise bar supplies, including coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other ingredients, ensuring adequate inventory levels at all times
• Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming atmosphere and building positive relationships with patrons
• Comply with food safety and health and hygiene regulations at all times
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak service periods

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Barista or in a similar bar and beverage role within the hospitality industry
• Strong knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods, and beverage preparation techniques
• Proficiency in operating espresso machines and other specialist coffee equipment
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with diverse clientele
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and during busy service periods
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
• Relevant certifications such as a barista qualification or food safety certification (preferred)
• Basic mathematical skills for handling cash and processing transactions accurately
• Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required
