Job summary

Cohu Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Continuous Improvement Senior Engineer to drive Lean Six Sigma and CI initiatives across site operations. You will lead training, coach DMAIC/Kaizen projects, and maintain measurement systems to deliver quality, efficiency and lead-time improvements.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, standardized work, and collaboration with quality and engineering teams to sustain continuous improvement across the manufacturing site in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• Minimum 3 years of CI/Lean/Six Sigma in manufacturing.
• Proven experience facilitating Kaizen events and Lean transformation.
• At least one full DMAIC project with measurable improvements.
• Experience in semiconductor/electronics/precision manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Lean tools (5S, VSM, Standard Work, SMED, Kanban, Visual Management).
• Proficiency with DMAIC, FMEA, Control Charts, Pareto, Hypothesis Testing, DOE, SPC, MSA/GR&R.
• Working knowledge of Minitab, JMP; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Knowledge of Automotive Core Tools is a plus.
• Willingness to adopt AI productivity tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead Yellow Belt and Green Belt training delivery at the Malaysia site with scheduling, facilitation and certification tracking.
• Coach and support DMAIC and Kaizen projects from definition to closure with financial benefit tracking.
• Maintain the site CI project tracker with defined scope, owner, timeline and targets.
• Facilitate Kaizen events (VSM, 5S, Standard Work, Lead Time Improvement) at the Malaysia site.
• Support MSA activities including GR&R and AR&R studies with suppliers.
• Drive measurable improvements in process efficiency and lead time with defined KPIs.
• Submit monthly improvement summary to the Senior Manager and contribute to global CI scorecard.
• Prepare quarterly business reviews and present project status and belt progress.
• Develop CI calendar and nurture champions across operations and quality.
• Document improvements in SWIs and maintain CI knowledge base for leadership and global teams.
• Support real-time SPC integration and risk-based decision making.
• Communicate proactively with management, cross-functional teams and suppliers.
