We are looking for a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Senior CAD Technician (Interior Design) to take ownership of technical drawing and drafting across all our interior design projects, with a particular focus on the hospitality sector. This is a hands‑on role—you will be responsible for preparing detailed 2D drawings, producing technical documentation, and ensuring design intent is meticulously captured and executed. You’ll work closely with the design team and external consultants to translate creative concepts into precise, buildable technical drawings, while also guiding and mentoring junior drafters along the way.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed 2D plans, elevations, sections, and joinery details for a range of interior projects, with an emphasis on hospitality spaces.
- Develop accurate furniture layouts, reflected ceiling plans, lighting layouts, and finishes schedules.
- Translate design sketches, mood boards, and conceptual ideas into clear and comprehensive CAD drawings.
- Produce tender and construction drawings in line with industry standards and project requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to integrate MEP, structural, and architectural details seamlessly.
- Manage and organize CAD files, layers, and drawing standards for effective project workflows.
- Prepare as‑built drawings upon project completion and ensure all documentation is updated.
- Supervise junior CAD drafters, reviewing and checking drawings for accuracy and compliance.
- Provide technical support and CAD training to team members.
- Work collaboratively with interior designers and project managers to ensure smooth project execution within deadlines.
- Attend design coordination and site meetings as needed.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to company CAD standards, templates, and layer conventions.
- Conduct regular quality checks and implement revisions as required.
- Oversee version control and maintain documentation workflows.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in interior design drafting (including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity).
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or other industry‑standard CAD software.
- Solid portfolio demonstrating advanced CAD skills and detailing for interior projects.
- In‑depth technical knowledge of interior construction, materials, and joinery.
- Familiarity with local building codes, standards, and ergonomic requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, visualization skills, and problem‑solving ability.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and mentor junior drafters.
