Job summary

You will identify growth opportunities online and offline, and lead cross‑functional teams to deliver store openings and partnership initiatives.

The role requires 3–5 years in business development, strong proposal and stakeholder management, and proficiency in MS Office.

Job description

Senior Business Development & Leasing (Retails)

· Responsible for creating compelling propositions that generate income across a range of income streams, from strategic to commercial and brand partnerships.

· Actively identify new prospects for growth, both online and offline, and provide clarity on the commercial opportunity and operational model.

· Planning, creating, and executing trade partnership strategies, policies, and best practices that are effective for the whole business segment.

· To build strategic business relationships with business partners in order to create a win-win cooperation in a long-term business strategy.

· Lead the operationalization of agreed plans & initiatives, working with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of projects as per the project timeline.

· Identify consumer requirements and opportunities by analyzing business gaps and developing a plan to minimize or fill the gaps.

· Lead periodic business reviews to evaluate the performance of existing brands, analyzing sales data, market trends, and other relevant metrics. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, marketing, operations) and external business partners to gather insights and make recommendations regarding business continuity strategies, including potential expansion, contraction, or adjustments to brand direction.

· Initiate market research in order to create solid customer insights and market trends.

· Analyze and research existing and prospective business and priorities in order to improve the company's competitiveness.

· Coordinate with landlord & project team for new store opening, review the letter of offer & Tenancy Agreement and ensure the information stated is correct.

· Initiate discussion with landlord for all leasing issues

· Coordinate discussion between project team and mall fit-out team

· Arrange payment to landlord accordingly and closely follow up on the payment status with Finance before the stipulated deadline

· Participate & support in all outlets events, as and when needed

· Performs any other ad hoc duties as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Be a strategic, highly adaptable, and entrepreneurial individual.

· Holds a tertiary qualification in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline.

· Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in business development.

· Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong proposals, lead productive meetings, and build robust stakeholder relationships.

· Demonstrated discernment and strong prioritization abilities.

· Proactive, independent, and positive attitude, with the capacity to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

· Up-to-date with the latest market trends and developments, possessing a strong understanding of competitor activities.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and understand consumer insights.

· Good knowledge of research tools for analysis and understanding of database technology.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel and PowerPoint)

· Willing to work at Old Klang Road.
