Job summary

Ambition in Penang is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead regional freight forwarding improvements across import, export, and cross-border operations, with direct exposure to regional leadership and customer IT partners.

You will own EDI and system integration governance, support trade compliance and customs reporting, drive data validation and management reporting, and mentor junior analysts across multi-country operations.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience as a business analyst in logistics or freight forwarding.
• Hands-on experience with EDI and system integrations (EDIFACT, XML, JSON, API).
• Proficient in SQL; PostgreSQL experience is a plus.
• Experience in Agile project delivery.

The Role

• Leading regional improvements across the full freight forwarding lifecycle, including import, export, and cross-border operations
• Taking ownership of EDI and system integration activities, from governance and standards-setting to onboarding and post-implementation support
• Supporting trade compliance, customs reporting, and data quality across regional systems
• Driving data validation, management reporting, and analytical insights for regional and HQ stakeholders
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing guidance to junior analysts

What We're Looking For

• Seven or more years' experience as a business analyst within freight forwarding, logistics, or a trade-related discipline
• Hands-on experience with EDI and system integrations across formats such as EDIFACT, XML, JSON, or API
• Comfortable working with SQL - experience in PostgreSQL is a plus
• Experience working within Agile project delivery frameworks
