Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Senior BIM Engineer for a client in the Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur region. You will lead BIM planning, coordination and model management across multidisciplinary projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery for large-scale infrastructure and engineering initiatives.

You will mentor junior BIM staff, drive BIM execution strategies and collaborate with stakeholders to overcome design and coordination challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, IT or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of BIM modelling, coordination and project delivery experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil, mechanical and electrical services design.

Responsibilities

As a Senior BIM Engineer, you will be responsible for leading BIM implementation and coordination activities across multidisciplinary projects while ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the planning, implementation, and coordination of BIM activities across engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Develop, maintain, and review BIM models to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, project teams, and stakeholders to resolve design and model coordination challenges.
• Conduct model reviews and quality assurance checks while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage complex modelling and drafting activities independently.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior BIM professionals.
• Support project delivery through effective BIM execution strategies and best practices.

Profile

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in BIM modelling, coordination, and project delivery within engineering, infrastructure, construction, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of civil, mechanical, and electrical services design principles.
• Ability to interpret and coordinate both 2D and 3D engineering drawings.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, and other BIM platforms.
• Exposure to BIM automation, scripting, or programming languages such as Python, Dynamo, Java, C#, or C++ would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and organisational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative project environment.
