Job summary

SJ Group is seeking talented architects to join our Global Design Center for a high-profile transportation project in Kuala Lumpur. The initial contract is for one year with a view to permanent employment upon performance.

You will work in a BIM environment, coordinating design development, preparing drawings and specifications for submissions, tenders and construction, and liaising with clients and stakeholders across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Degree in Architecture.
• 10+ years of experience, with 5–7 years in transport-related projects.
• Well-versed in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop & Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Work in a BIM environment.
• Assist the Project Director/Architect to execute design and management strategy within the project team.
• Coordinate design development and prepare drawings, documentation and specifications for Authority Submission, Tender and Construction documentation.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and stakeholders on coordination and delivery.
• Attend project meetings and participate in design and technical discussions to ensure compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned related to the work scope.

We are seeking talented and driven candidates to join an established team working on a high-profile transportation project urgently.

Your responsibilities will involve the design coordination, production and documentation responsibilities as part of our Global Design Center.

The following roles will initially be for a contract duration of one (1) year with a view of

permanent employment subject to a performance assessment.

Job Description

• Your general role and responsibilities will involve work in a BIM environment.
• Assist the Project Director/Architect to execute the overall design and management strategy within the project team. Ensure project aligns with design, timelines, quality and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate design development efforts and prepare drawings, documentation and specifications fit for Authority Submission, Tender and Construction documentation in accordance with building codes, Authority guidelines, company standards and project and client requirements.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and other project stakeholders on project coordination and delivery matters throughout the project timeline.
• Attend project-related meetings & participate effectively in design and technical discussions to ensure design, technical and Authority compliances.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Project Director/Architect/superior related to the nature of the work scope.

Job Specification

• Must possess a Degree in Architecture with a minimum of 10 years' experience, of which 5-7 years is Transport-related experience.
• Well-versed in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Photoshop & Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge in Rhino, Grasshopper, Python and/or other parametric scripting tools are advantageous.
• An effective communicator with good interpersonal, written and verbal competencies as well as graphic presentation and architectural documentation skills.
• Organised, responsible and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-centric environment.
• Good knowledge of architectural details and working drawings.
• Flair in design and able to produce good design solutions.
• Possesses a strong understanding of the Uniform Building by-Laws and Authorities guidelines and requirements.
