Job summary

Koh Brothers Group of Companies is seeking BIM Coordinators (Civil & Structural and Architecture) to manage and coordinate BIM activities across project stages in Penang. You will ensure design accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration with architectural, structural, and MEP teams, and use Navisworks/Solibri to resolve clashes.

The role requires experience in design engineering, construction, or IDD, and proficiency with BIM software.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• BCA Academy BIM Specialist Diploma and vendor BIM training certifications.
• 5 years of BIM experience as a Project Level BIM Coordinator on large-scale projects.
• 6 years of working experience in design engineering, construction, or IDD project management.
• Completed at least one full design or construction cycle.
• Conversant in BIM tools such as Solibri Office, Navisworks Manage, or VRCollab.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Location: East area.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support the creation and development of BIM models specific to Civil & Structural (C&S) disciplines, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design specifications.
• Coordinate BIM models between architectural, structural, and MEP teams, facilitating effective collaboration and integration
• Utilize BIM software such as Navisworks Manage or Solibri Office to identify and resolve clashes, minimizing conflicts during construction.
• Ensure that the BIM models meet quality standards, checking for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.
• Identify and resolve any issues related to model data, quality, or design clashes in collaboration with the BIM team and project stakeholders.
• Implement and adhere to the BIM Execution Plan, ensuring that all processes, protocols, and milestones align with the project goals and digital delivery objectives.
• Regularly review models with project teams, using tools like Navisworks, Solibri, or VRCollab to communicate design updates, changes, and coordination requirements.
• Facilitate or participate in model coordination meetings with architectural, structural, and MEP teams, addressing technical issues and updating models as required.
• Maintain accurate documentation of model progress, updates, and changes, ensuring consistency with the project’s BIM execution and standards.
• Prepare periodic reports summarizing model progress, issues encountered, and resolutions, providing insight to project managers and stakeholders.
• Ensure that as-built information is properly incorporated into the model, coordinating with contractors to capture any deviations from design.

The BIM Coordinators (Civil & Structural and Architecture) are responsible in managing and coordinating BIM activities across project stages, ensuring design accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration. With experience in design engineering, construction, or integrated digital delivery (IDD), and advanced proficiency in BIM software, the PBC ensures models are accurate, accessible, and aligned with the project requirements.

Role Responsibilities:

• Oversee and support the creation and development of BIM models specific to Civil & Structural (C&S) disciplines, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design specifications.

• Coordinate BIM models between architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) teams, facilitating effective collaboration and integration

• Utilize BIM software such as Navisworks Manage or Solibri Office to identify and resolve clashes, minimizing conflicts during construction.

• Ensure that the BIM models meet quality standards, checking for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.

• Identify and resolve any issues related to model data, quality, or design clashes in collaboration with the BIM team and project stakeholders.

Role Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architectural.

• Certified with Specialist Diploma in Building Information Modelling (BIM) by BCA Academy and any BIM authoring software’s modelling course by the software vendor’s authorized training provider. Candidate certified with Digital Delivery Lead (DDM Tier 2) will also be considered.

• 5 years of BIM experience as a Project Level BIM Coordinator role in large scale or infrastructure project

• 6 years of working experience in design engineering, construction engineering or integrated digital (IDD) project management

• Completed at least one full cycle at design phased or construction phase.

• Candidate is preferable to be conversant in one (1) of the BIM software such as Solibri Office, Navigator, Navisworks Manage, VRCollab, etc.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a project team.
