Job summary

DH DIGILAB (M) SDN BHD is seeking a Senior Software Developer with strong backend capabilities to join the engineering team and contribute to a large-scale property platform. The role emphasizes solid software engineering fundamentals, ownership, and end-to-end delivery from design to production.

The ideal candidate will design backend services, APIs, and database schemas, implement authentication with RBAC, and collaborate with frontend developers when needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong backend fundamentals: API design, architecture and database design.
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, with SQL performance concepts.
• Experience with modern web app development; React and/or Next.js is a plus.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, automated testing and collaborative workflows.
• Comfortable with Linux, Docker, CI/CD and cloud/server environments.
• Able to work independently; communicate technical decisions clearly.
• Professional proficiency in English and Mandarin for client communication.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver software features from requirement to production.
• Design and build backend services, REST APIs and system integrations.
• Design database schemas and write efficient production queries.
• Implement authentication, authorization and RBAC.
• Work with frontend developers and contribute to frontend when required.
• Review code and improve engineering standards; maintain quality.
• Investigate production issues; identify root causes and fixes.
• Participate in architecture discussions and assess risky requirements.
• Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Support deployment, CI/CD and production operations as needed.
