Job summary

CIMB is seeking an experienced full stack developer in Kuala Lumpur to own and advance backend services for core banking and digital channels. You will translate requirements into clean code, and collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and DevOps to deliver features on schedule.

The role requires 5–7 years of Java development in enterprise environments, strong Spring Boot and REST API skills, and experience with SQL databases and distributed systems. Banking industry exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 5–7 years of Java development experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL databases, and distributed systems concepts.
• Exposure to cloud/container technologies is a plus.
• Experience in banking, payments, or regulated industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services for core banking and digital channels.
• Translate business and technical requirements into clean, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and DevOps to deliver features on schedule.
• Write tests, perform code reviews, and uphold engineering standards and best practices.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver long-term fixes.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and mentor junior developers when needed.
