Job summary

Standard Chartered is seeking an Agile Developer to join our IT&O team in Malaysia. You will craft microservice APIs, design and implement solutions, and collaborate with product owners in a fast-paced agile setting.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years in Java-based API development, strong REST/SOAP experience, and hands-on Docker/Kubernetes knowledge. You'll work across engineering and vendor teams to deliver robust digital banking capabilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in microservice API development using Java frameworks.
• Experience developing REST and SOAP APIs.
• Strong API integration skills with in-house and third-party systems.
• Hands-on Docker experience, Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• End-to-end delivery from discovery to production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead API development in microservice architecture using Java frameworks.
• Develop REST/SOAP APIs and integrate with multiple systems.
• Perform performance tuning and load testing with tools like JMeter.
• Promote Agile practices and coach the team on new techniques.
• Collaborate with cross-functional technology groups within the bank.
