Job summary

Orsted Germany is seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to help standardize AWS services and enable secure, self-service cloud capabilities across teams.

You will join the AWS Product Enablement team to design scalable, governed platforms, implement IaC, and collaborate with product owners, architects, and developers to accelerate adoption.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on AWS experience in complex, multi-account environments (Landing Zone, Control Tower, or equivalent).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
• Experience implementing governance, guardrails, and security controls (e.g. AWS IAM, baseline configurations, encryptions).
• Experience supporting containerized workloads with Docker and Amazon EKS to enable teams to deploy and scale apps.
• Familiarity with observability practices and tools (e.g. CloudWatch).
• Understanding of platform engineering principles like standardization and reusability.
• Comfort building self-service capabilities and golden paths to reduce cognitive load for consuming teams.

Responsibilities

• Support development and improvement of standardized AWS services as self-service product solutions with guardrails.
• Design and standardize AWS services for scalable, reusable platform capabilities (EC2, RDS, S3, EKS, EFS).
• Enable self-service through automation using Infrastructure as Code via the internal developer platform (IDP).
• Treat security and governance as design inputs, including IAM, encryption, tagging, and monitoring shipped with the service.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and application teams to support onboarding, adoption, and migrations.

You’ll play an important role in:

• suporting the development and improvement of standardized AWS servicesand native cloud services(e.g. compute, databases, storage) as opinionated, self-service product solutions with built-in guardrails
• designing and standardizing AWS services to enable scalable, reusable, and self-service platform capabilities (e.g. EC2, RDS, S3, EKS, EFS, FSx, SNS)
• enabling self-service through automation using Infrastructure as Code to build standardized services and deliver them through the internal developer platform (IDP)
• treatingsecurity and governance as design inputs, not aftermaths e.g IAM, encryption, tagging, and monitoring shipped with the service
• collaborating with product owners, architects, and application development teams to support Products onboarding, adoption and migrations.

To succeed in the role, you:
