Job summary

Swiss Re is seeking a Principal Auditor to provide independent assurance over Asia Pacific's significant risks. You will work with the APAC Audit Director, conducting risk-based audits and contributing to regional risk assessment, governance, and controls across diverse business areas.

The role involves analysing complex processes, collaborating with senior leadership, and applying actuarial, finance and underwriting domain expertise to deliver practical recommendations.

Qualifications

• University degree in Actuarial Science, Accounting, Business or Finance.
• Professional certification CPA, CA, CIA or CISA preferred.
• At least 5 years of related work experience in external and/or internal audit.
• Experience in (re)insurance or exposure to actuarial processes is preferred.
• Good knowledge of regulatory requirements in Asia, especially Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Australia and Japan.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; data analytics tools are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned audit tasks across end-to-end process: planning, scoping, fieldwork, reporting.
• Contribute to risk assessment by analysing emerging risks and control issues.
• Apply domain expertise to assess complex risk areas and provide insights.
• Prepare high-quality audit reports with evidence-based insights for senior management.
• Demonstrate knowledge of GIA methodology and apply consistently.
• Support APAC Audit Director and Committees with materials for governance and regulatory needs.
• Build constructive stakeholder relationships across the first and second lines of defence.
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives and ensure timely delivery of objectives.
• Leverage data analytics and emerging technologies (AI) to enhance audits.
