Job summary

Swiss Re is seeking a Principal Auditor to provide independent assurance over Asia Pacific's most significant risks. You will work with the APAC Audit Director to deliver risk-based audits, contribute to regional risk assessments and provide insights that strengthen governance and controls.

The role offers exposure to senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders, with opportunities to apply actuarial/finance expertise and leverage data analytics to enhance audit effectiveness.

Qualifications

• University degree in Actuarial Science, Accounting, Business or Finance is required.
• Professional certification CPA/CA/CIA or CISA is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of audit experience in external and/or internal audit.
• Experience with (re)insurance or Big 4 external audit is advantageous.
• Actuarial background or actuarial processes in insurance/reinsurance are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of internal audit methodologies and Asia-related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned audit tasks through planning, scoping, fieldwork and reporting.
• Contribute to risk-based audit planning with emerging risks and controls analysis.
• Apply domain expertise (actuarial, finance, underwriting) to audits.
• Draft high-quality, evidence-based audit reports for senior management.
• Utilise GIA methodology consistently across audits.
• Support materials for Committees, Executive Board, and regulatory reporting.
• Build stakeholder relationships across first and second lines of defence.
• Participate in strategic GIA initiatives and timely delivery of objectives.
• Leverage data analytics and AI to enhance risk assessment and audits.
