Job summary

Swiss Re in Malaysia seeks a Principal Auditor to deliver risk-based audits across Asia Pacific. You will work with APAC Audit Director and peers to strengthen governance, risk management and controls.

The role offers exposure to senior executives, cross-functional stakeholders and global audit teams, with opportunities to apply analytics, actuarial insights and emerging technologies to audits.

Qualifications

• University degree in Actuarial Science, Accounting, Business or Finance.
• Professional certification in CPA, CA, CIA or CISA preferred.
• At least 5 years of audit experience in external and/or internal audit.
• Exposure to (re)insurance clients or internal audit in a (re)insurance setting.
• Actuarial background or actuarial processes experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements in Asia, especially Singapore, Malaysia, HK, China, Australia and Japan.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned audit tasks and contribute to end-to-end audit processes.
• Perform risk assessments by analysing emerging risks and control issues.
• Apply domain expertise (actuarial, finance, underwriting) to assess risks.
• Draft high-quality audit reports with evidence-based insights for senior management.
• Support preparation of materials for Committees and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with first and second lines of defence to identify red flags.
• Leverage data analytics and AI tools to enhance risk assessment and testing.
