This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional looking to take ownership of a company's full set of accounts, from day-to-day bookkeeping right through to month-end closing, statutory compliance, and audit coordination. With exposure spanning accounts payable and receivable, payroll and statutory matters, tax, and financial analysis, this role offers plenty of variety and the chance to make a real impact on the organisation's financial health.
What you'll be doing?

- Handling reconciliations: Carry out monthly bank, supplier, customer and inter-company reconciliations to ensure every transaction is properly recorded and supported.
- Driving month-end and year-end closing: Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports, support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow projections, and get schedules ready for year-end statements and audits.
- Overseeing payables and receivables: Review supplier invoices and payments, follow up on outstanding customer balances, and prepare payment vouchers and receipts.
- Supporting payroll and statutory compliance: Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely submission of statutory payments and reports, including EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB.
- Coordinating tax and audit matters: Assist with corporate tax computations, liaise with auditors, tax agents and company secretaries, and prepare audit schedules as needed.
- Delivering financial analysis: Prepare variance reports and other financial insights, monitor expenses and revenue, and flag any discrepancies for timely resolution.
- Strengthening internal controls: Help maintain sound accounting procedures, review transactions for accuracy, and contribute ideas to improve processes and systems.
Who are they looking for?
- Relevant qualification: A Diploma or above in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required; a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA or MIA would be a welcome bonus.
- Solid accounting experience: At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience is needed, ideally including exposure to handling a full set of accounts.
- Knowledge of local requirements: Good understanding of Malaysian accounting standards and statutory requirements will help ensure compliance across all reporting.
- Technical proficiency: Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel and accounting software to manage day-to-day financial tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills: Proficiency in English and Malay is required, as the role involves liaising with internal stakeholders, external auditors, tax agents and company secretaries in both languages.
- Independent and organised approach: Good analytical, problem-solving and organisational abilities, with the capacity to work independently, meet deadlines and stay composed under pressure.
