Job summary

Savvilio Singapore Pte Ltd in Malaysia’s Johor Bahru area seeks a Senior Accounts Associate / Accounts Associate who is passionate about accounting and client-focused. You will work with experienced accounting, tax and corporate professionals while servicing SMEs across Singapore and Southeast Asia.

The role covers full/partial sets of accounts, monthly/quarterly/annual management accounts, reconciliations, journal entries, and assisting in year-end audits.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in accounting/finance or related discipline.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, Xero, AutoCount, SQL, MYOB or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle full or partial sets of accounts for a portfolio of clients.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
• Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with accounting standards.
• Process journals, accruals and adjustments.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
• Support year-end closing activities and liaise with auditors.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documents for statutory reporting.
• Communicate with clients to obtain accounting information and documents.
• Work with tax and corporate secretarial teams to ensure timely service delivery.
• Assist in GST computation & filings where applicable and ensure compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes using digital accounting tools.

You will work alongside experienced accounting, tax and corporate professionals while gaining exposure to businesses from various industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle full set or partial sets of accounts for a portfolio of clients.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
• Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with accounting standards.
• Process journals, accruals and adjustments.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
• Support year-end closing activities.
• Liaise with auditors during annual audits.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documents for statutory reporting.

Client Support

• Communicate with clients to obtain accounting information and supporting documents.
• Respond to accounting-related enquiries professionally.
• Work closely with tax and corporate secretarial teams to ensure timely service delivery.

Compliance

• Assist in preparing GST computation & filings where applicable.
• Ensure accounting records comply with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve work processes.
• Leverage digital accounting systems and AI tools to improve efficiency.
• Participate in internal projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience are preferred.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, AutoCount, SQL, MYOB or similar systems is an advantage.
• Good understanding of accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
