Job summary

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Accounting (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Registered as a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA)
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, taxation, and financial reporting
• Strong knowledge of MFRS, Companies Act 2016, SST, and Malaysian tax regulations
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
• Experience with e-Invoice compliance and ERP/accounting systems (e.g. AutoCount or SQL) is an advantage
• Experience with intercompany/group accounting and consolidation is a strong advantage, particularly within multi-entity or group structures
• Experience in agribusiness (e.g. livestock/plantation accounting, MFRS 141) and/or multi-outlet retail accounting (inventory control, stock reconciliation) is an advantage

Job description

Reporting to the Accounts Manager, this role sits within a large, interrelated group of companies spanning agribusiness, food processing, and retail. This role involves preparing and reviewing full sets of accounts, preparing financial statements in compliance with accounting standards, and managing monthly and year-end closing processes. You will handle budgeting, cash flow, and financial analysis, conduct tax planning, and prepare corporate tax returns. The role requires ensuring compliance with E-Invoice, SST/GST, and other statutory requirements, liaising with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulatory authorities, and advising management on financial risks and business decisions. You will establish and maintain internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain accurate intercompany transaction records and reconciliations across group entities, liaising with external transfer pricing consultants to ensure timely and accurate documentation support.
