Job summary

Spruson & Ferguson in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage end-to-end financial and accounting activities within a regional/global IP services firm. You will oversee month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, cash management, and budgeting, while ensuring tax compliance and audit readiness.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, a degree in accounting/finance or ACCA, fluent English, and strong knowledge of accounting, internal controls, and treasury.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree or professional qualification in accounting/finance.
• ACCA or equivalent as a minimum; CA/CPA a bonus.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, internal controls, tax and treasury.

Responsibilities

• Manage full scope of financial and accounting responsibilities including month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, and cash management.

• Manage budgeting and monthly cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors for statutory audits.

About the Role

As a Senior Accountant with our team, you would manage the full scope of financial and accounting within a stable organisation with both a regional and global presence. Key responsibilities would include:

• Managing full scope of financial and accounting responsibilities including but not limited to month end closing, monthly reconciliation of the accounts, preparing monthly and annual financial statements, and cash management.
• Analysing financial performance of the Company and provide commentary/recommendations.
• Providing support and review tax reports to be submitted to relevant authorities. Ensure compliance with tax statutory requirements.
• Managing budgeting and monthly cashflow forecasts.
• Preparing audit schedules and work closely with external auditors for completion of statutory audit.
• Processing Withholding tax, Value-Added tax (VAT), and income tax.
• Contributing to and supporting automation and enhancement of business processes.

What You Bring

• Minimum Degree in Accountancy/Finance or ACCA or equivalent. Certifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are a bonus.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent command in English (written and spoken) is a must-have, to liaise with internal stakeholders based across the region.
