Job description

This role involves overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement. You will review and enhance accounting processes, ensure accuracy of financial records, supervise the accounts department, and prepare financial statements. You will also ensure compliance with accounting standards under Malaysia Law, manage tax regulations and statutory requirements, oversee internal audits, and coordinate external audits. Additionally, you will assess existing finance and accounting processes, design and implement improvements, and establish best practices for financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities
• Monitor Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger functions
• Ensure proper accounting treatment according to applicable standards
• Submit bank reconciliation statements to management
• Prepare and review management accounts and financial statements
• Present financial insights and recommendations to management
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards according to Malaysia Law

About you

• At least 5 years of proficient working experience
• Professional certificates or Degree & above in Accounting or Finance
• Able to meet deadlines and work independently
• Detail-oriented and able to solve problems independently
• Proficiency in English.
• Experience with Accounting software (Autocount)
