Job summary

Continuum Hospitality Group Sl is seeking a Senior Account Executive to oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations across its restaurant and outlet operations. You will ensure accurate records and timely reporting while adhering to company policies.

Working with the Finance Manager and cross-functional teams, you will manage accounts payable/receivable, month-end close, and compliance, while supporting audits and tax matters.

Job description

The Senior Account Executive is responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the hospitality group, including restaurant and outlet operations. The role ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

The position will work closely with the Finance Manager, management team, outlet operations and other departments to ensure smooth and effective financial management across the group.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Accounting & Financial Operations

• Manage daily accounting transactions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and cash/bank transactions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for the company and assigned outlets.
• Review and verify invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, credit notes and other financial documents.
• Ensure all transactions are properly recorded and supported by relevant documentation.
• Perform monthly bank, cash and ledger reconciliations.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and follow up on overdue balances.

2. Outlet & Hospitality Accounting

• Monitor financial transactions and accounting records for multiple restaurant/outlet operations.
• Review daily sales, cash collections, credit card, e-wallet and other payment transactions.
• Reconcile daily outlet sales against POS reports, bank settlements and payment platforms.
• Monitor outlet expenses, petty cash and operational purchases.
• Work closely with outlet managers to resolve discrepancies and ensure proper financial procedures are followed.
• Ensure proper recording of service charge, discounts, voids, refunds and other outlet-related transactions.

3. Month-End Closing & Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Perform month-end closing activities, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and journal entries.
• Prepare account schedules and supporting documents for management review.
• Investigate unusual variances and discrepancies and provide explanations where required.
• Ensure monthly financial reporting is completed accurately and within the required timeline.

4. Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

• Process supplier invoices, payment requests and staff claims accurately and timely.
• Verify invoices against purchase orders, delivery orders and supporting documents.
• Maintain proper records of supplier balances and payment schedules.
• Issue invoices and monitor customer accounts and outstanding balances.
• Follow up with relevant departments on outstanding payments and documentation.

5. Inventory & Cost Control

• Assist in monitoring food, beverage and operational inventory accounting.
• Reconcile inventory reports with accounting records where required.
• Work with the Operations and Procurement teams to investigate stock variances.
• Assist in monitoring food and beverage costs and identifying unusual movements.
• Support monthly stock take and ensure proper documentation of stock adjustments.

6. Audit, Tax & Compliance

• Prepare schedules and supporting documents for internal and external audits.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretarial representatives and other external parties when required.
• Assist with SST, tax and other statutory reporting requirements.
• Ensure accounting records and supporting documents are maintained in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting requirements.
• Ensure proper filing and maintenance of financial documents for audit and compliance purposes.
• Monitor cash handling and collection procedures across outlets.
• Review cash deposits and investigate discrepancies.
• Ensure proper segregation of duties and compliance with internal financial controls.
• Identify potential financial risks, discrepancies or irregular transactions and report them to the Finance Manager.

8. Team & Stakeholder Coordination

• Work closely with Finance, Operations, Procurement, HR and Management teams.
• Guide and support junior accounting staff in daily accounting tasks.
• Assist in improving accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Provide financial information and support to management when required.
• Perform other finance and accounting duties assigned by the Finance Manager or Management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum **3–5 years of relevant accounting experience**, preferably within the hospitality, restaurant or F&B industry.
• Strong knowledge of full-set accounting and accounting principles.
• Experience handling multiple outlets or entities will be an added advantage.
• Familiar with POS, accounting and financial reporting systems.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
