Job summary

Adecco is recruiting a senior interior designer to lead commercial interior projects, particularly corporate offices, from concept through construction documentation.

You will oversee space planning, develop detailed 2D drawings, review shop drawings, coordinate with junior designers, and ensure design intent is realized on site. Strong AutoCAD proficiency and Revit familiarity are essential, with exceptional communication and project delivery focus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related field.
• 5-8 years of relevant interior design experience, preferably in Design & Build or interior fit-out.
• Strong experience in commercial interiors, especially corporate offices and workplaces.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD with 2D, technical and construction drawings.
• Revit proficiency is highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of space planning, detailing, construction methods and fit-out works.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and translate them into accurate 2D drawings.
• Experience producing construction, shop and as-built drawings with revisions.
• Willingness to conduct site visits and coordinate on site.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with clients, designers, PMs, contractors and site teams.
• Portfolio showing commercial interior/office projects and technical 2D drawings is required.

Responsibilities

• Attend tender briefings to understand project requirements and deliverables.

Job description

• Attend client tender briefings on a case-by-case basis to understand project requirements, scope, design intent and deliverables.
• Conduct and participate in site visits, site measurements, site recce and feasibility studies to assess existing conditions and support space planning.
• Participate in internal layout briefings with the assigned Junior / Intermediate Designer to establish project requirements, design direction and drawing deliverables.
• Lead and execute space planning and 2D design activities, ensuring layouts are practical, functional and aligned with project requirements.
• Develop detailed space planning, technical detailing, construction drawings and other 2D design documentation.
• Prepare and review technical, construction and as-built drawings, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with project requirements.
• Work closely with 3D Conceptual Designers on design development, material selections and the coordination between 2D technical drawings and 3D design concepts.
• Review detailing prepared by Junior / Intermediate Designers and participate in material sign-off sessions to assess the technical feasibility of client comments, requests and proposed design changes.
• Ensure all approved comments and design changes are accurately incorporated into revised drawings and delivered within the agreed project timelines.
• Ensure the Junior / Intermediate Designer-in-charge is fully prepared for client sign-off sessions, including the proper arrangement and preparation of materials, samples, construction drawings and updated 3D visuals at least one day prior to the session.
• Work closely with the Designer-in-Charge and Project Manager during the construction phase to resolve design-related issues and ensure design intent is properly implemented on site.
• Conduct site visits where required to investigate design or construction issues, identify practical solutions and communicate site findings and decisions back to the Design Studio team.
• Participate in internal handover inspections prior to official project handover to identify design termination, detailing and finishing issues, and coordinate necessary rectification.
• Document and share key site findings, challenges and solutions with the Design Studio team as part of post-project reviews and lessons learned.
• Maintain accurate and systematic filing, documentation and records of all design-related drawings, revisions, materials, approvals and project documents.
• Provide technical guidance and support to Junior / Intermediate Designers to maintain drawing quality, design accuracy and project delivery timelines.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in interior design, preferably within a Design & Build / interior fit-out environment.
• Strong experience in commercial interior projects, particularly corporate offices and workplace environments.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD with solid experience preparing detailed 2D, technical and construction drawings.
• Proficiency in Revit is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of space planning, technical detailing, construction methods and interior fit-out works.
• Able to interpret architectural drawings, site conditions and design concepts, and translate them into accurate and practical 2D drawings.
• Experience preparing construction drawings, shop drawings, detail drawings, as-built drawings and drawing revisions.
• Willing to conduct site visits, measurements, inspections and site coordination when required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, designers, project managers, contractors and site teams.
• Portfolio showcasing commercial interior / office projects and technical 2D drawings is required.
