Job summary

AIMS Data Centre is seeking an experienced 132kV Resident Competent Engineer, Data Centre (Facilities Manager) to lead critical facilities operations and maintenance.

This senior, hands-on role ensures the safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of electrical infrastructure, with focus on 132kV, 33kV, 11kV and LV systems.

You will oversee operations, maintenance planning, regulatory licensing, reporting, vendor performance and emergency readiness, supporting 24/7 uptime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
• Registered Professional Electrical Engineer with BEM, including signing authority.
• Energy Commission of Malaysia registration as a 132kV Competent Engineer / JEK.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in 132kV operations within data centres or critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, operation, inspection and maintenance of 132kV, 33kV, 11kV and LV electrical systems.
• Act as the registered competent person under the Electricity Supply Act 447 and Electricity Regulations 1994.
• Ensure compliance with electrical laws and Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements.
• Lead weekly reports, inspections and liaison with authorities on outages and regulatory matters.
• Supervise engineers, vendors and contractors to ensure safe, timely delivery of work.
• Respond to power interruptions with root-cause analysis and recovery planning.
• Support design reviews, commissioning and energy efficiency initiatives.
