AIMS Data Centre is looking for an experienced 132kV Resident Competent Engineer, Data Centre (Facilities Manager) to lead critical facilities operations and maintenance.
This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and cost‑effective operation of critical engineering infrastructure, with primary focus on 132kV, 33kV, 11kV and low voltage installations. The successful candidate will oversee day‑to‑day facilities operations, maintenance planning, regulatory licensing, customer reporting, vendor performance and emergency response readiness.
This is a senior, hands‑on role suited for an experienced electrical professional who can provide strong technical leadership, make sound decisions under pressure and support 24/7 data centre uptime.
Oversee the installation, operation, inspection and maintenance of 132kV, 33kV, 11kV and LV electrical systems.
Act as the registered competent person under the Electricity Supply Act 447 and Electricity Regulations 1994 including carry out the responsibilities of competent person under the Act.
Ensure full compliance with electrical laws, safety regulations, industry standards and Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements.
Submit weekly Borang I reports and conduct weekly inspections of 132kV, 33kV and 11kV installations.
Liaise with TNB, NLDC, Suruhanjaya Tenaga and local authorities on switching, outages, shutdowns and regulatory matters.
Lead daily facilities operations and ensure critical M&E systems are maintained for safe and reliable performance.
Oversee key systems including HT/LV, generators, UPS, DRUPS, PDUs, chillers, CRAC/CRAH, pumps and fire protection systems.
Develop, review and execute SOP, MOP, EOP, PPM plans, maintenance schedules and risk assessments.
Supervise chargemen, engineers, vendors and contractors to ensure safe, timely and quality work execution.
Attend to power interruptions, breakdowns and critical incidents, including root‑cause analysis and recovery planning.
Review technical documentation, maintenance reports, customer reports, proposals and regulatory records.
Support design review, commissioning, optimisation and improvement of electrical and facilities systems.
Drive energy efficiency and system optimisation initiatives to support sustainable operations.
Degree in Electrical Engineering registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
Registered Professional Electrical Engineer with BEM, including signing authority.
Registered with Energy Commission of Malaysia as a 132kV Competent Engineer / JEK.
Minimum 5 years of experience in 132kV operations within a data centre or critical facilities environment.
Strong knowledge of data centre M&E systems including generators, UPS, DRUPS, CRAC/CRAH, PDUs, chillers and fire protection systems.
Experience in switching operations, regulatory compliance, maintenance planning, incident response and vendor management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and identify root causes.
Able to work independently, manage pressure and meet tight timelines.
High commitment to facilities reliability, safety and operational excellence.
Willing to support extended working hours and 24/7 on‑call requirements.
