Job summary

Carsem (M) Sdn. Bhd, a major semiconductor packaging and test services supplier, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer at its Ipoh sites.

You will plan, coordinate, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment performance and minimize downtime. You will supervise technicians, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring calibration and safety standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent is required.
• 3–5 years of equipment maintenance experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with Backgrind and FOL equipment including Grinder, Polisher, Detaper, Inline Machines, Auto Mounter (Dicing Tape/DAF Tape), Taiko Wafer Ring Removal, Wafer Sawing and AOI systems.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, machine setup, and qualification processes.
• Experience leading or supervising maintenance technicians is advantageous.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Supervise and train maintenance technicians to meet targets.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and support machine upgrades and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with production and engineering to ensure equipment is set up, qualified, and released for production.
• Monitor spare parts inventory to ensure adequate stock for maintenance activities.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of all equipment and measuring instruments.
• Drive compliance with SOPs, safety, and quality standards in maintenance.
• Investigate abnormalities, implement corrective actions, and monitor effectiveness.
• Support quality improvement activities and communicate issues across shifts.
