Job summary

Carsem (M) Sdn. Bhd in Ipoh is seeking an Equipment Engineer to maintain front‑of‑line semiconductor tools, troubleshoot downtime, and support installations and qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ).

You will monitor performance, participate in process improvements, and ensure safety and quality standards. The role requires a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and a minimum of five years' experience supporting EOL equipment such as mold, trim & form, dejunk, and plasma tools.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities

1. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting
   • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on front-of-line semiconductor tools (Mold, Trim and Form, dejunk and singulation, plasma, Automated Inspection), etc..
   • Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency. Troubleshooting technical issues thru SPC/ 8D/4M analysis.
   • Work closely with equipment vendors for complex repairs and technical support.
2. Equipment Installation and Qualification
   • Support the installation and setup of new equipment.
   • Perform IQ/OQ/PQ (Installation, Operational, and Performance Qualification) for newly installed tools.
   • Ensure tools/machines meet process requirements and specifications before release to production.
3. Tool Performance Monitoring
   • Monitor key equipment performance like uptime, MTBF, and utilization rates.
   • Analyze trends and logs to predict and prevent potential failures.
   • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency
4. Process and Equipment Integration
   • Work with Process Engineers to ensure equipment parameters support the required process conditions.
   • Participate in cross-functional teams for process improvement or tool upgrades.
5. Documentation and Compliance
   • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment status.
   • To establish critical process parameters for new devices or new customers
   • Ensure all activities comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
   • Create and update equipment documentation including PM checklists, troubleshooting guides, and SOPs.
6. Spare Parts and Inventory Management
   • Track and manage spare parts inventory to support quick repair turnaround.
   • Coordinate with procurement and vendors for timely supply of critical spares.
7. Training and Support
   • Train technicians and operators on equipment usage, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
   • Provide on-call or shift support to production as required.
   • Supervise and guide a team of Technicians on the Engineering activities
   • Overseeing all quality and issue. · To attend customers meeting and audit
   • To minimize customer complaint; both internal and external (VOC, VOP) and MRB
   • Involvement of 5S
   • Compliance to spec and continuous enhancement
   • Any other duties assigned by immediate superior.

Requirements

• -Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or any relevant course.
• -Minimum 5 years of experience in supporting EOL Equipment, preferably with Mold, Trim & Form, Dejunk, Singulation, plasma, AVI, etc machine related experience.

The construction was completed in January 2004, the staff has been through extensive training in Carsem's existing Malaysian factories and the assembly and test equipment to support the manufacture of the MLP (Micro Leadframe Package) Quad and Dual was installed during the second quarter of 2004. Customer qualifications were completed during the second quarter and the factory started shipping production volumes during the third quarter of 2004.
