Job summary

6255 UOB Innovation Hub 2 Sdn Bhd seeks an experienced SRE/DevOps and Security Engineer to strengthen GIS security platforms and improve system reliability. You will contribute to automation, observability, and incident handling in a banking environment.

The role requires 5–8 years in SRE/DevOps or related fields, strong scripting with Python, and experience with Splunk and Grafana. A diploma or degree in a relevant field is expected, with on-call duties and regulated environment exposure

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in engineering/Computer Science / IT/Cyber Security from a recognized institution.
• Cyber Security product certifications are favorable but not mandatory.
• 5–8 years in SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering or Security Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Support the establishment and maturation of the GIS Security Engineering Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) capability to improve reliability and automation.
• Operate and support SIEM, Syslog, XDR, HIPS, CyberArk, SOAR, TIP, NDR, IPS and related security platforms.
• Perform proactive monitoring, health checks, incident response, problem management and root cause analysis.
• Develop automation using Python, Ansible, APIs and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
• Implement and maintain observability dashboards using Splunk, Grafana and monitoring platforms.
• Define and track SLIs, SLOs and Error Budgets for critical services.
• Maintain runbooks, SOPs and knowledge management artifacts.
• Support production handover and operational readiness reviews with Engineering and Solution Architecture teams.
• Participate in on-call support, disaster recovery and resilience testing.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the establishment and maturation of the GIS Security Engineering Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) capability. Responsible for improving reliability, scalability, observability, automation and operational excellence of critical cybersecurity platforms supporting Cyber Defence Engineering and Infrastructure Security Engineering.
• Operate and support SIEM, Syslog, XDR, HIPS, CyberArk, SOAR, TIP, NDR, IPS and related security platforms.
• Perform proactive monitoring, health checks, incident response, problem management and root cause analysis.
• Develop automation using Python, Ansible, APIs and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.

Technical Skills

• Strong Linux and/or Windows administration skills.
• Experience with Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus or equivalent observability tools.
• Hands-on scripting with Python, PowerShell or equivalent.
• Experience with Ansible, APIs and automation frameworks.
• Good understanding of networking, distributed systems and incident management.
• Experience with CyberArk, XDR, HIPS or SIEM platforms preferred.
