Job summary

6255 UOB Innovation Hub 2 Sdn Bhd is seeking a Security Engineer in Malaysia to support and enhance the bank's data security products. You will design, develop, deploy and maintain security capabilities, including Splunk dashboards and reports, while collaborating with internal teams and vendors.

The role requires 6+ years in IT with at least 2 years in Cyber Security, and hands-on experience with Splunk content creation. A proactive, analytical mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in engineering/ Computer Science/ IT/ Cyber Security.
• 6+ years of IT experience with at least 2 years in Cyber Security.
• Experience integrating solutions with Splunk and developing Splunk content (alerts, dashboards, reports).
• Knowledgeable about data security technologies and current industry best practices.
• Analytical problem solver with strong troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• The Security Engineer will support day-to-day operations and development of the bank's security suite of products with key objective to design, develop, deploy, maintain and enhance Data Security capabilities.
• Create dashboards, alerts, and reports in Splunk.
• Maintain and enhance existing reports for business needs.
• Develop the necessary test cases and perform testing.
• Implement and operationalize the use cases.
• Create and maintain documentation in accordance to Bank standards.
• Ensure appropriate standards and procedures are followed during development to deliver quality results.
• Troubleshoot, debug and provide production system support for Data Security Engineering services.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to resolve system issues.
• Execute tasks related to project/change/maintenance requests.

Job Responsibilities

• The Security Engineer will support the day to day operations and development of the bank security suite of products with key objective in designing, developing, deploying, maintaining and enhancing the Bank's Data Security capabilities which includes but is not limited to Data Loss Prevention (DLP), E-Mail Encryption and Operations.
• Create dashboards, alerts, reports in Splunk.
• Maintain and enhance existing reports for business.
• Develop the necessary test cases and perform testing.
• Implement and operationalize the use cases.
• Create and maintain documentation in accordance to Bank standards.
• Ensure appropriate standards and procedures are adhered to during the development process to support quality deliverables.
• Troubleshoot, debug and provide production system support for Data Security Engineering services.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to resolve system issues.
• Execute tasks related to project / change request / maintenance request.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in engineering/Computer Science / IT/Cyber Security from a recognized education institution
• Data Security product certifications will be favorable although not mandatory Technical Skills
• Overall, 6 years of work experience in information technology and at least 2 years in Cyber Security
• Working experience in integrating solution with Splunk and developing Splunk contents (alerts, reports and dashboards)
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in managing and deploying Data Security Solutions
• Data Security or Splunk product certifications will be favorable although not mandatory
• Knowledgeable with the variety of Data Security technologies and familiar with the industry trends and best practices
• Analytical problem solver and good at troubleshooting technical issues
• Hands-on experience with Windows, Unix or Linux and endpoint management tools (e.g. SCCM, JAMF)
• Proficiency in network technologies, scripting and automation (e.g. PowerShell scripts, Python)
• Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products
