Job summary

UOB is seeking an AS400 Security Engineer in Malaysia to design, implement and support security across AS400 and Mainframe platforms. You will ensure security standards, perform technical assurance, and drive automation initiatives within infrastructure security engineering.

You will join a team delivering trusted security solutions, coordinating with GIS and business units, and supporting regulatory requests while maintaining system reliability and compliance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, CS, IT or Cyber Security.
• 5+ years of AS400 security administration experience.
• Experience leading security programs and AS400 project management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support security solutions for AS400 and Mainframe platforms.
• Maintain security configuration standards and technical assurance.
• Provide day-to-day support for the bank's security products (AS400/Mainframe).
• Process security-related change requests for AS400 and Mainframe systems.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, baselines, and processes.
• Identify automation opportunities for AS400 System & Security Administration.
• Collaborate with GIS teams to align infrastructure with security solutions.
• Provide production support and monitoring for control efficacy and reliability.
• Respond to audit/regulatory requests with timely information.

Job Responsibilities

• The AS400 Security Engineer will be a key member of the Infrastructure Security Engineering team, responsible for the design, implementation, and support of security solutions across AS400 and Mainframe platforms. This role ensures the security configuration standards and technical assurance of systems managed by the infrastructure and platform teams.
• Design, develop, deploy, maintain, and enhance infrastructure security capabilities for AS400 and Mainframe platforms.
• Support day-to-day operations of the bank's security suite of products with a focus on AS400 and Mainframe.
• Manage and execute security related change requests related to AS400 and Mainframe systems.
• Develop and maintain documentation including Security Standards, Access Control Baselines, and operational processes.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities for AS400 System & Security Administration.
• Collaborate with Business and Systems Services teams to align infrastructure and application requirements with GIS-managed security solutions.
• Provide production support and monitoring to ensure control efficacy and solution reliability.
• Conduct product research, define requirements, and perform technical Proof of Concept for new security initiatives.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of AS400 security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with industry best practices.
• Respond to audit and regulatory requests with timely and accurate information.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering/Computer Science/IT/Cyber Security from a recognized education institution
• Professional security related qualifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, etc.) will be favorable although not mandatory
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in performing AS400 Security Administration and/or management of AS400 Application systems, with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience in managing projects (preferably AS400 related projects) - Hands on experience with AS400-related programming languages
• Proven experience leading relevant security programs in large organizations
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements such as MAS TRM, PCI DSS, etc.
