Job summary

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. in Malaysia seeks a Section Manager, Automation to lead automation initiatives across Krubong/Melaka.

You will guide engineering teams, oversee KPI reporting, and drive standardization and digital transformation aligned with Industry 4.0. The role requires 8–12 years of leadership in automation, a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electronics/Automation, and hands-on MES/SECS-GEM experience.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer, Electronics or Automation Engineering.
• 8–12 years of leadership experience in automation engineering.
• Proven track record in multi-fab automation leadership.

Job Location:

Krubong, Melaka, Malaysia

This position will be located at Krubong, Melaka in a vibrant industrial area. You will experience different exciting local cultures in this historical state.

What You Will Be Doing

Leadership & Management

• Oversee KPI reporting processes
• Lead teams of automation engineers across multiple sites.
• Develop and enforce automation standardization across different sites.
• Manage capital investment projects (CapEx) and overhead budgets
• Mentor junior engineers and build self-sufficient teams.

Strategic Vision

• Identify manual processes suitable for automation projects and deliver scalable solutions.
• Drive global rollout strategies for automation platforms.
• Align automation initiatives with Industry 4.0 and digital transformation.

Soft Skills

• Strong decision-making under pressure.
• Excellent cross-functional communication with executives and engineers.
• Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to manage cultural diversity in global teams.

Technical Expertise

• Knowledgeable in establishing communication protocols like SECS/GEM or other communication hardwares.
• Knowledgeable in SQL programming.
• Knowledgeable in project management.
• 3 to 5 years experience in MES setup and machine integration.

What You Will Bring Along

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer, Electronics or Automation Engineering.
• 8–12 years of leadership experience in Front and Back-end automation engineering.
• Proven track record in multi-fab automation leadership.
